What Is EuroJackpot?
EuroJackpot launched in March 2012 as a trans-European lottery game, proposed as a direct competitor to EuroMillions. Although not yet as widespread or as widely played as EuroMillions, EuroJackpot has grown rapidly — particularly among online lottery players across Northern and Southern Europe.
The lottery offers better winning odds than EuroMillions across its lower prize tiers, which has contributed to its growing popularity. Because jackpots are won more frequently, however, they do not reach the extraordinary levels of EuroMillions. That is the fundamental trade-off — better odds, but smaller peaks.
Lottery officials from Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Estonia completed the negotiations that established EuroJackpot in November 2011 in Amsterdam. The first ever EuroJackpot tickets went on sale on 17 March 2012, and the inaugural draw took place six days later on 23 March 2012. Spain joined in June 2012, marketed through the NGO ONCE, and the game has continued to expand since — currently spanning 19 countries.

EuroJackpot Questions
The most common questions answered
EuroJackpot starts with a minimum jackpot of €10 million. If the jackpot is not won it rolls over and grows until it reaches the maximum cap of €120 million. Once capped, if it is still not won, the prize money is shared among the winners in the next prize tier down.
The jackpot odds are 1 in 139,838,160 — the same as EuroMillions for the top prize. Where EuroJackpot stands apart is the overall odds of winning any prize: 1 in 32, compared to 1 in 13 for EuroMillions. That significantly better chance of winning something in a lower tier is one of the main reasons EuroJackpot has grown so rapidly across Europe. There are 12 prize tiers in total.
EuroJackpot draws take place every Tuesday and Friday at 9:00pm in Helsinki, Finland. Prize calculations and evaluations are handled in Germany and Denmark. Winning numbers are announced online approximately two hours after the draw, at around 11:00pm.
Yes — players outside the 19 official EuroJackpot countries can participate through a licensed lottery concierge service. These services purchase official tickets on your behalf from within a participating country and notify you of any wins. Always check that any concierge service you use holds a valid gambling licence.
