The draw is conducted in Paris by Française des Jeux on behalf of every participating country. EuroMillions is played across 11 countries through nine national lottery operators — Monaco and Andorra take part via the French and Spanish operators. It is a single draw producing one set of numbers — every country plays the same game, against the same five main numbers and two Lucky Stars.
The exact minute varies slightly from week to week, which is why the window matters more than the headline time. If you are watching for results, expect them from about 8:15pm UK time rather than on the dot.
Ticket deadlines are not the same everywhere
This is the part that catches people out, particularly anyone buying from a country other than the one they live in.
The draw is shared, but each country’s lottery operator sets its own sales cut-off. Those deadlines range from 6:30pm CET in Austria to 8:30pm CET in Spain — a full two hours apart for the same draw. The UK’s 7:30pm close sits in the middle of that range.
The practical consequence: a deadline you have read on a website for one country tells you nothing reliable about your own. Check the cut-off published by the operator you actually buy from, and treat any single figure quoted for “EuroMillions” as approximate.

What happens on a draw night
- Sales close. 7:30pm in the UK, earlier or later elsewhere. Entries cannot be bought or amended after this point.
- The draw takes place. Around 9pm CET in Paris — five main numbers from 1–50, then two Lucky Stars from 1–12.
- Numbers are published. Within minutes of the draw completing. This is when you can check whether you have matched anything.
- The prize breakdown follows. Around 10pm UK time, once every participating country has reported its ticket sales and winner counts. Until then, the amount each prize tier pays is not yet known.
The gap between step three and step four is normal and often misread. You can know you have won immediately; you cannot know what you have won until the breakdown is published, because EuroMillions prizes below the jackpot are pari-mutuel — the pot for each tier is shared among however many people matched it.
